BORAMOS HOLDINGS is a Rio de Janeiro-based investment holding company founded by partners Ryan and Kat Vaughan. The name says everything about our approach: bora and vamos - two ways Brazilians say "let's go" fused into one word that captures exactly how we operate.
Ryan and Kat relocated from Texas to Rio de Janeiro in 2023, not as tourists testing the waters, but as operators with boots on the ground and long-term stakes in the market. Nearly three years in, they are deeply embedded in Rio's expat and Carioca business communities - and fluent in what it actually takes to build here.
RYAN VAUGHAN brings over a decade of global energy industry experience. As Country Manager for a global oil & gas company he led the establishment of the company's first ever South American entity - navigating Brazilian corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and local market dynamics to build a viable operation from the ground up.
KAT VAUGHAN brings over a decade of brand and business development experience at global companies including Red Bull and Nike, alongside hands-on work scaling startups across CPG, sports technology and wellness. She founded KARIOCA, a US-Brazil brand strategy consultancy, and is Co-Founder and Owner of MANA HOUSE, a premium social wellness club launching in Ipanema in 2026.
Together, they combine complementary skill sets that are rare in the market: Ryan's expertise in establishing international businesses within Brazil's complex regulatory environment, and Kat's experience building brands that resonate across cultures. BORAMOS HOLDINGS is the vehicle through which they deploy capital, build operating companies, and create lasting value in Brazil.
